Henrike Florusbosch is a socio-cultural anthropologist who holds a PhD from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a MA from Leiden University. She also holds a graduate certificate in Museum Studies from University of Michigan. At Leiden University, she teaches classes on Religion & Modernity, Gender & Development, Globalization, and Heritage.
Her research interests include the “heritagization” of religion, the anthropology of the senses, Islam, kinship and relatedness, and gender. Her geographic focus is on West Africa, particularly Mali and Ghana.
