Visual Ethnography 'New Talent Films' at Beeld voor Beeld Festival

Thursday February 12th films of our MA students Annelies van der Ploeg, Ildikó Zonga Plájás en Dewi Plass will be shown at the Beeld voor Beeld Festival 2015 at EYE, Amsterdam. Films you don't want to miss!

BEELD VOOR BEELD is a documentary film festival that is concerned with cultural diversity. Rooted in visual anthropology, the festival screens documentaries on various sub/cultures offering discussions and seminars. This year’s edition will take place 11-15 February in Amsterdam. The festival serves as a meeting place for filmmakers and audiences from different cultural backgrounds, as all filmmakers will be present for a Q&A after the screening of their film.

New Talent Films

All three movies of our MA students Visual Ethnography are shown under the category 'New Talent Films' on Thursday February 12.

Annelies van der Ploeg made a film on dementia and how it gradually unravels someone's personality. Hungarian-Romanian MA student Ildikó Zonga Plájás made a documentary on the The Danube Delta in Romania – the 'Last European Sanctuary’ and UNESCO World Heritage Site, yet where the plight of local communities is largely overlooked. And Dewi Plass will show her experimental ethnographic film on Millingen aan de Rijn, a small Dutch village where life is intertwined with the dynamics of the river.
